To say the team was super hyped for this lobster feast wouldn't be an exaggeration, it would be playing it down, big time! As the Mayfair branch do not accept reservations, we found ourselves booked up and ready to lobster slurp at the Soho Branch a month in advance. So we was all chomping at the bit when the night finally arrived, ready to get involved and experience what Burger & Lobster had to offer for a team dining experience.
So there were seven lobster hungry team members and here are a few of their views on their experience at Burger & Lobster.

Burger & Lobster when first walking in reminded me of one of those classy American brasseries, with its red and gold interior, bar at the front and booths at the back. Having booked over a month in advance we were ushered past the long queue and taken to our seats. With only 3 options on the menu, it doesn’t take us long to order and we don’t have to wait too long for the food to arrive either. Excellent! I ordered the lobster roll, Vicky ordered the grilled garlic and lemon lobster – and we shared. And I’m glad I did! The roll is more like a lightly toasted sandwich, but it tastes soooo much better than that description sounds. It’s got all the best bits of the lobster meat with a slightly sweet dressing.

Now
for the lobster….it was amazing. It comes on a big silver platter with
chips, a dressing you can pour on yourself and salad. You are given a
plastic bib to catch any lobster juice as this meal can get messy. But
that’s all part of the fun so we all got stuck in! I can’t gloss over
the salad as that part was actually also really enjoyable for me! It
complimented the lobster and came with some kind of breadcrumbs on top –
not too sure what it was but it was de-lish. The staff were all really
good and attentive – came and checked if we wanted drinks fairly often
and were quick in bringing them over.
Favourite
part? The roll might have edged it for me as it was so tasty. But the
lobster is also really yummy and the whole experience of eating it and
trying to find the last bits of meat in the legs at the end of the meal,
means that it can’t be missed!

There wasn't a dry chin in the house when team food club met at Burger & Lobster on Friday night. Having tried the grilled lobster on a separate visit and finding it just a little dry, I opted for the steamed lobster with garlic. Right choice! It was seriously succulent. So much so that the plastic bibs provided would serve better being made into full body suits. The simple menu is perfect for those indecisive people like me. I'm still bemused though that some people pay £20 for a burger when you can get a big juicy lobster for the same price? I've already recommended and will continue to do so.

After hearing about Burger & Lobster at work I was excited to be invited to the Soho restaurant last week. The only time I've eaten lobster in the past was after cooking it myself which was chewy and a bit of a disaster to say the least, so I wasn't expecting to find it amazing.
When
I arrived I had a glass of wine at the bar while waiting for the
others. I thought it was a bit steep at nearly £8.00 including service
charge. I waited for a while and once everyone arrived we were taken to
our table, I was pleased to see it was an American style booth which was
nice for our group of 7. There was a good atmosphere and they provided us with bibs and lobster eating tools. Which was good for the mess and also for photo opportunities!
There
are only three things on the menu, having already decided I wanted to experience both of the lobster dishes, I shared a grilled lobster with
garlic butter and a lobster roll with one of my fellow food club team
mates (Katie!). Each dish came with fries and salad so there was
definitely enough to eat. Both dishes were very delicious! I thought
the lobster was better value for money as all dishes were £20 and it
was fun cracking the lobster and taking out the meat. However the roll
was also very nice with tender meat and great if you don't want to get
in a mess! The lobster roll was cold lobster meat and the grilled
lobster is hot and fresh. I think the roll could be taken up a level
with hot lobster meat.

One little downside is that I don't
think they take bookings for larger groups, so it wouldn't be great for a big birthday meal for example. In short Burger & Lobster had lovely food, great atmosphere but expensive drinks!
